Door Diaries | April 2016

A series inspired by the beauty of opening up your door to good things!

“A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.” – Wayne Gretzky

Sports opens up the door to so many things in a child’s life – and their life as an adult in the workforce. We are big believers that the lessons learned in a childhood involved in athletics are unmatched. One of the reasons why we sponsor sports teams in our community every year is because of the tremendous value we see in the teamwork lessons learned while playing a game.

Over the years in Ontario, Phantom Screens jerseys have been worn by everyone from 5-year old hockey tots to teenage soocer players to adult softball teams. We believe so much in the life lessons learned on the ice, the pitch or the field. Teamwork is such an important part of what we do at work everyday, and the transferable skill of thinking of the whole ahead of thinking of yourself is critical.

Because so much of our business happens in the warmer part of the year, we put a lot of value in using high school and university students in our workforce. Young people who have excelled at sports tend to understand the importance of teamwork almost inately. And that translates into the work they do. That inate desire to be part of a team is something we look for in our staff, and it’s a big part of what makes us successful.

Whether it’s in our office or showroom, out in the field or in the warehouse, our employees embrace teamwork every single day. When we communicate well, share information unfailingly, and put our customers and our co-workers ahead of ourselves, we add that little something extra. We create a customer experience – and a life experience – that is extraordinary, and makes every team member feel like a winner. We differentiate our installations from anyone else’s. And just like in sports, we create that magic feeling. The feeling we want our customers to experience at Phantom Screens. A forward-looking anticipation of what’s needed. Of going “where the puck is going to be”.

We hope that you embace sports and physical activites in your life. It’s another great way to open up your door to good things!
